Here is the agenda for the meeting These are the draft minutes for the last meeting on the 10th of April 2025. The meeting will start with a presentation by Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN). Part One of their consultation on the Cross Border Transmission Link has now been completed, which was to identify the corridor along which the transmission line would be located. This was our written response to that consultation. Part Two of the SPEN consultation is to decide where the pylons will actually be sited along the corridor. SPEN have been asked to give such details as they have for preferred pylon placement in our area, and details of the proposed Teviot substation. There will then be a presentation by Oxygen Conservation on their proposed plans for Blakeburn/Hartsgarth. They have been asked to comment on any wind farm proposals they may have. There has been a lot of controversy over the culling of the wild goats which range freely over the Langholm Moors, which is now partly owned by Oxygen Conservation. It has been agree that there will be a separate item on this topic. This item will start with an introduction by David Braithwaite, Chairman of the Wild Goats Conservation Group, to set the background for the discussions. The Wild Goats Conservation Group have proposed a seven point plan for the management of the goats. Oxygen Conservation have published a position statement on their management of the wild goats. Rachael Hamilton MSP contacted the Scottish Government for their comment on the Langholm wild goats and this was their response. Invenergy have submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Report for the proposed Cliffhope wind farm to the Scottish Government for comment. This document outlines the procedures by which the impact of the Cliffhope windfarm will be assessed. The meeting will be asked to approve a proposed Community Council response to this Report. Rosie has produced an info board to be placed at suitable locations in our area and will present this for comment and approval. This is the police report for April.
